The Host - by Melanie Stryder
"The Host", by Melanie Stryder:
My favorite book is “The Host” by Melanie Stryder. I really enjoyed this book because of its characters. Stryder’s vivid descriptions of her characters truly make them come alive.
There are two main characters in this book, and the author does an excellent job in giving them their own personalities, when the point of the story is for them to join into one unit, forming a host-parasite relationship.
This allowed me to relate to the characters and align specific emotional ties to each one. While reading this book, I actually cried due to the deep emotional ties I made to specific characters.
The vehicle for this romantic novel is one of science fiction. This gives a new twist to an old genre, keeping it alive for a younger and more hip generation. The science fiction aspect of the book also adds a lot of unique plot twists and points of interest.
