Summer Sisters by Judy Blume
Summer Sisters by Judy Blume
This was a wonderful story about two friends growing up together. Both were from different worlds and backgrounds but regardless grew very close.
Every summer they would spend their time together at the beach. Eventually the differences between them become more and more noticeable the older they get. In this story you follow the two girls through the biggest events of their teenage years. They fall in love, find their sexuality, and individuality. They share laughs, tears, boys, many first time experiences.
You can't help but sympathize and remember your own tumultous teenage years as these young girls grow and stumble their way into women.
Judy Blume really surprised me with this book considering she had mainly written childrens books before this. This book is a easy read and very enjoyable. It is a book for your mother, sister, and best friend. So sit in a comfy spot, put on your reading glasses, and get comfortable. Because you will not be able to put this book down.
