My Glasses Are An Extension Of Me

I got my first pair of glasses when I was three years old, after having surgery to correct my crossed-eye condition.

They were quite tiny.  As the years went by I acquired new ones in larger sizes.  I guess I was lucky that in all of my years of wearing them I have only broken one pair.  That was an unfortunate punch in the face that I received after teasing a girl in my class.

I remember my freshman year of high school I got to pick out the same pair as my best friend.  That pair I wore all through high school.  I am still wearing glasses, 30+ years later.  I have had my current pair for eight years.  I did purchase new ones a few years ago, but they are my extra ones.  Even after all of these years I have never ventured into the contact lens world.  Glasses may not be the most attractive accessory a person could have, but I have had them so long they seem like just an extension of me.
