The Root Cause of My Headaches

Well, funny story getting glasses in the first place.  I needed eyeglasses long before the folks who only wear reading glasses. I got my first pair when I was in say 5th or 6th grade, I was getting major headaches.  I went to the doctor several times and took all kinds of tests to figure out what was bothering me.  Then as simple as can be, it was determined that it was because I was struggling to see.

I didn't notice that I couldn't see things that great at a distance.  Since then, my vision got worse.  I went from wearing them just to see far, to wearing them all the time.  I have gone thru many pairs of glasses.  I lost some, had some have the eye lenses continue to pop out, and had some that refused to stay on my face no matter how many times I had them adjusted.

Of course, growing up you always have to have cool ones.  I really never was teased by having them except the year I thought it was cool to have straps attached to them so that they would hang around my neck when I wasn't using them.  Similar to the clic reading glasses available today. Not a good idea for a kid back then…

The ones I currently have are great.  They have some wear and tear, but keep on ticking.  I don't know how long I have had these, maybe 4-5 years.  I know it is time for a check up.  They slide off my face a little but I can deal with it.  They have some blue stuff that comes off if I wipe them to clean them.  I am not sure what that is from.  Some paint is chipped off, but no ones says anything.  I tried contact lenses for a time (to impress the ladies of course), but they ended up being to much work.  I will stick with my good old glasses for now.
